    Description

Water Hardness Test Strips - 50 strips
Read on for what you need to know about water hardness and testing.
Water hardness is the level of calcium and magnesium in your water. Hard water causes spots on dishware, shower doors, cars, etc. It builds up inside water heaters and causes early malfunctions and leaks. It also damages coffee makes and other water-using appliances. A water softener will remove hardness if it is working properly. The only way to know if your softener is working or dialed in, is with hardness test strips. Simply dip the strip in the water and compare to the chart. If the strip does not change color, the water is soft. The closest color match is your hardness level. If water hardness is showing up before the next salt regeneration, you need to make an adjustment on the softener. Read your manual for instructions. Repeat the test and see if the adjustment did the job. If not, make another adjustment. Why pay a pro to do what you can do with this test kit? They use these SAME test strips!
Don't be fooled! Testing bottled water will 99% of the time give a positive test. That's because bottled water contains hardness minerals. Minerals are in spring water naturally or added to enhance flavor. ONLY distilled or reverse osmosis water will have a zero hardness when using the strips. That is assuming the filtration devices are working properly.
These strips come in a sealed jar. Keep wet fingers OUT of the jar. The strips have a use-by date of May 2022. We're working with a private label manufacturer as a fund-raiser. The company makes high-end strips for various companies. Your strips may have different brand but they are all the same 100% new test strips.
