    VTG Bespoke Men’s Henry Maxwell London Riding Boot 4-Part Boot Trees (possibly WW2 used)
    Vintage bespoke leather riding boots made by the famous Henry Maxwell on Savile Row in London. These boots don’t have an exact size so I will do my best for you to be able to make an educated guess on size. Measured from the outside, they are 12 inches from heal to toe and 18 1/2 inches tall from the heal to top of the boot. They are in very good overall shape with the leather still being very soft. There is some minor cracking in some areas (see photos for example). The soles are leather with the back heals being steel. (This is done a lot of time in military boots).
    Each boot has a four part boot tree with the “Maxwell 11 Savile Row London tag attached as well as the engraved name of Thomas H. Fitzgerald ESQ.
    I say they were possibly WW2 (I can’t confirm) because they were purchased by a WW2 B-17G pilot by the name of Thomas H. Fitzgerald. The plane he flew was “Stag Party”, part of the 384th Bomb Group at Grafton Underwood, England (AAF Station 106) and later the 305th Bomb Group. Lt Fitzgerald completed 17 combat missions mainly over France and Germany.
    I can’t confirm the actual age of the boots and that they were definitely used in theatre during WW2, but I can confirm they belonged to Lt Fitzpatrick as I purchased them from his estate in Easton, Connecticut. They seem like they could be that old based on the materials and condition as well as the steel heal guard, but this is up to the seller to decide. I can’t say one way or another and there is no guarantees of such.
    Overall, you’ll be getting a quality set of boots from a world famous manufacturer that were owned by a WW2 hero. They would be great added to any equestrian collection or WW2 collection. They are being sold as found.
    They also come with a generic boot bag with the previous address of the former Lt.
    Will be shipped packed very well to prevent any damage or rubbing of the leather.
