This is a used refractive index detector made by HP, model HP1047A.  We powered up the unit as can be seen in the photos but did not actually take measurements with the instrument.  The heater works and achieves a setpoint which is indicated by a flashing green heater light.  The  light insensity error light is on which according to the manual could be solved by flushing the unit.  Light intensity is the relationship between two photodiodes.  Currently TP1 is reading  -1.32 and TP2 is -2.34 and the average is -1.83.  The gross zero adjustment buttons were pressed which activates a motor which moves a mirror inside.  The unit is in good overall condition but it does have a light intensity error which could be as simple as a system flush and calibration.
