Description
Peal & Co., Ltd. manufactured English shoes from 1565 until 1965. The firm catered to a variety of notable individuals including Fred Astaire, Humphrey Bogart, Teddy Roosevelt, JFK, Laurence Olivier, and others. Brooks Brothers purchased the name in 1965 and uses it for its premium line of English-made shoes. These men’s custom made equestrian boots are circa 1930 and feature dark brown leather and have laced fronts. They come with a set of custom fitted hardwood boot trees which appear to be of newer manufacture. Soles appear to have been redone over the years. The leather is mostly in good condition with some areas of heavy cracking/dried out leather. The insides of the shanks have some soil/leather polish accumulation. Wear to soles.
The boots are approximately a US men’s 10.5 size. They are 19” high, 11” long and 3 7/8” across the footbed. Very heavy to ship along with the boot trees.
