All of our Hobart HTi scales have been meticulously refurbished and cleaned. We offer a high end, revitalized product, that is guaranteed to be a long-lasting solution for you. Our competition on ebay do sell these scales for cheaper prices.
However, the
quality
of your scale and
overall
cost of ownership must be considered.
Walmart scales with their original OS installed
will not be functional upon arrival
.
All walmart scales that have not had their operating system replaced with an original copy from Hobart will include passwords locking the supervisor pages. The supervisor pages are the only place that the scale can be setup for your store, such as entering and editing PLU’s, setting up barcode information, selecting label types and graphics, and almost all the other features this scale offers. With the supervisor pages locked, the only way to access the scale and make it usable would be to call a Hobart representative to come out and unlock it,
by our estimates this will cost you a minimum of 0 just for them to show up
.
In addition, from our years of experience, simply booting on the scale and seeing if it weights is an insufficient way to test the functionality of the scale. The printer must be tested for proper calibration and printing errors.
Approx. half of all the walmart scales we refurbish have badly calibrated or non-functioning printers.
The printer cassette must be tested, many printer cassettes from walmart scales have broken plastic pieces or knicks in the printing column that cause printing errors.
Most importantly, MOST walmart scales will include a ‘fatal error’ called
a communication error.
This is because the scale was removed from walmarts network and from its licensed store. This communication error will show up when once the scale is attempted to be set up, ex: connecting to your network or inputting your own PLUs.
This error will permanently lock you out of the scale
, and the only way to fix the issue is to again have a Hobart representative fix this issue,
approximately costing a minimum of 0 in parts, not including labor
.
